Game drives in your own vehicle are also welcomed during the day. Some areas are only accessible in a four-wheel drive vehicle. The drives on the reserve are firstly a game viewing experience and secondly an off-road or 4x4 experience.
You are also encouraged to explore on foot, seeing that this brings nature the closest to you. You will experience the veld and wildlife much more intimately this way. In this regard we offer guided walks as well. Bird watching is very popular as the area offers the bird lover a large variety of birds. The fact that the river has pools that always holds water, adds to the wide variety of birds found in the region. This also provides you with fishing and swimming opportunities.

Glenmore is a delightful retreat with a choice of five different and comparatively easy farm trails that include rocky terrain, stream crossings and the possibility of some serious mud on the River Trail. We managed to bog a Toyota Prado for a couple of hours, mainly through a novice's mistake, and had to hitch a ride with a tractor. The incident did nothing to dampen our enthusiasm for a drive rich in scenic delights with the bonus of 79 bird species identified on the property. It is ideal for a quiet weekend away from it all in the Little Karoo, knowing that warm country hospitality awaits you.
