About Speekhout Farm

We are the new owners of Speekhout Farm as of April 2017, which means clean and fresh upgrading, repurposing, and over all reclaiming of once lost lands and people

The farm is located 19 km from the beginning of the Nuwe Kloof Pass, at the west side of the kloof, and about 55km from the N9 between Uniondale and Willowmore

We are readily reached by low clearance sedan vehicles travelling slowly on some sections of the dirt road, but hey, a 4 x 4 is by far what the entire kloof calls for!

For us, to prepare a resting place to receive adventurous guests, is to share the rugged beauty of natural quietude, clear air, sweet water and scented fire against a million stars

The Tree House is built into and enveloped by a living tree, a handmade retreat, an unique experience. It’s outdoor bathroom simply invigorates the soul

Our getaway gem is the Karoo Cottage. Undisturbed simplicity. Surrounded by magnificent mountains and bird life. The partial open air bathroom is just so very refreshing

It used to be called The Shack and Eagles Rest, but a new identity calls for a new name, thus Klipspringer is the refurbished and close to nature hide away. It is a place to be in the moment and enjoy the pause

We feel that people who want to camp here, want a lot of nature and then some more. With this in mind we are creating a new camp site nestled between hills, opening 1 November 2017. Even though we are going to rig 1 permanent tent sleeping 2, the site will only facilitate 1 booking at a time. The camps site has trees for tents and a braai/kitchen area, as well as a private open air bathroom with flush toilet and shower

Activities on the Farm and surrounds caters for 2 kinds of activities – the 1 is mountain biking, hiking trails, walking to watch birds, swimming in the plaas dam, a rock art site, braaing and sitting by the fire under the stars. The other is resting, sleeping, reading, listening to nature, bird watching...

We invite you to share in our new adventure! Baviaanskloof is not only the Route 332 through, it is a nature pause at its best! Mark & Paulien Enrieu
