Baviaans Self Catering Accommodation Guest Farm

A short way from Willowmore on a working Karoo farm is a sandstone cottage which conjures up the charm of yesteryear. Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Karoo in safety and relish the starry Karoo nights.

You can hike through the veld or cycle our tracks while watching out for birds and smaller game and enjoying the cycads and aloes. You may even stumble across our spring. You are, of course, welcome to explore the workings of the farm itself.

You may even find yourself being greeted by a Kudu cow. As an orphaned calf she was hand reared on the farm and, although she lives freely in the wild, she often returns to visit her human friends.

The cottage can sleep up to 6 persons with 5 beds and a bathroom. Normally, lighting is provided by paraffin lamps to enhance the rustic atmosphere but the cottage is wired for electricity and a generator can be laid on for visitors who request it in advance.

The living area also has a kitchen which is fully equipped for self catering. There is a gas stove for convenience but for those who really want to get into the swing of things there is also an original coal stove. This is particularly welcome on cold winter evenings.

Outside is a stone braai on the stoep as well as a pool in which to relax after a hot summer's day.
